We are always in the process of planning introduction to visual literacy workshops. These are usually 2 day workshops with an introduction to both collage and video work.

If you are a girl or know a girl who is interested in taking a workshop please let us know. This is a great way to expand your knowledge and awareness as well as to explore if TVbyGIRLS is for you.

We would be glad to put you on our mailing list and keep you updated on the next workshop.

Video Production

How Moving Images work / Creating a video

How do commercials, films and videos work? What are the visual tools used by filmmakers? How do different camera angles and shot compositions influence the way we feel about the image? How do different editing choices affect how we interpret the story we create? How does the relationship of two images change the story? How does a storyboard work? When does what you don’t see communicate more than what you do see?

Students analyze commercial ads and create image juxtapositions (montage). They learn about how storyboards work. They create storyboards for a 2-minute video project of their own ideas. Girls are encouraged to create a video message that reflects a powerful truth about their own lives.
